About Me
About Me
My first short films were created during COVID lockdowns. The constraints added to my creativity. I wandered towards experimentation, eschewing conventions. The experience of lockdown filmmaking gave me both a unique eye and a willingness to problem solve in an unorthodox way.
I’ve spent the past couple years content creating for The District Sports Bar. Working alongside the owner, I quickly understood the creative tension between artistry and marketing. I acquired a different creative mindset that prioritized stimulation and immediacy over pace and build-up.
Now...
I desire learning more about all aspects of the creative process. For example, in 2025, I directed my first play in New York. I loved finally getting the opportunity to collaborate with other artists. I found the experience to be both affirming and enriching.
My new goal is to start working on sets. I imagine being on shoe-string budget productions where multiple people have multiple jobs. I’m eager to be useful. Even though I lack the conventional background, my uncommon journey has allowed me to pick up a breadth of skillsets that I can apply to any set.
Background
I began as a writer. In elementary school, I’d fill the pages of my spiral notebooks with story after story. Eventually, little stories turned into bigger stories and then full-blown novels. My magnum opus was Darkest Tales, it was 500-pages long, typed, and it took four years to write.
From a young age, I also had the spirit of a performer. For multiple Christmases, I wrote the nativity story into a play. I roped my cousins into acting it out with me. This was my first foray into directing and producing. We had scripts, rehearsals, costumes, props and production design.
At certain points in my life I drifted away from my artist self, perhaps, thinking that adulthood required practicality. Now, I don’t care too much for practicalities.
